I recently moved to the Charleston, SC area from Florida. I've moved around quite a bit in my life. I began life in North Carolina. My dad was in the Navy, so we moved many times. I ended up back in NC for high school and college. I majored in French at Pfeiffer College. After teaching high school for one year, I was unable to get a teaching job when I moved. I worked in the insurance industry for a few years. I had 3 children and stopped working. In 1985 I moved with my husband and 3 children to Heidelberg, Germany, where we lived a wonderful 7 years. When we returned to the States, I was ready to start work, and found a job at my local library. I've been working at libraries ever since. It's like being in a candy store for me since I love books so much. I've worked now for library systems in Virginia, Georgia, Florida, and now SC. I began by shelving books as a page, and have worked my way up to working at the Reference Desk. Libraries are a great place to work.
